Parcel Express Documentation

Parcel Express Documentation

Parcel Freight Documentation

The shipping documentation required for freight shipments varies depending on whether you are shipping via air or sea,
and whether you choose to deliver your consignment into a receiving centre / drop-off depot yourself or to have it collected
and delivered into our warehouse.

You can rest assured that, no matter which shipping solution you choose, our specialised freight team will be here to advise
you and to ensure you have all of the documentation you’ll need.

The following information is provided as a general guide to the types of documents you may need when shipping freight
internationally. For further information please contact us directly and we’ll be happy to assist.

Air Waybill (for Air Freight)

All air freight shipments require an air waybill. This is the most important document in any air freight delivery: it
contains important information relevant to your shipment including the sender and delivery address and a copy is usually
attached to every separate piece in your consignment.

Shipping label (for Sea Freight)

A shipping label must be attached to all sea freight consignments. This is similar to an airway bill in that it contains
important information about your shipment and sea freight cannot be delivered without it. We will forward your labels to you
after you have made an order.

Packing list (Customs invoice)

This is a document detailing the contents and value of your goods for customs purpose. All shipments must be accompanied by a
packing list. We can prepare these for you and commercial shippers are also encouraged to use their own if preferred.

Bill of Lading

This document is required for sea freight shipments only, and it entitles a named party at the destination port to receive
the goods shipped. We prepare Bills of Lading for you after the vessel departs and send you a copy for you to
forward to your receiver. When Telex release is available, electronic express Bills of Lading are issued, rather than original
copies. Hard copies are available if requested at the time of booking.

NB: For personal (i.e. non-commercial) sea freight shipments, a copy of the recipient’s passport is required before
the vessel departs.

Optional Collection Services

If you would like to have your consignment collected, we will arrange this for you and we’ll email you a shipping label
(air waybill) for the collection service. We can also arrange to post your documentation to you if you prefer. Once we receive
your consignment into our warehouse, we’ll ensure all other documentation is taken care of before we forward it to
its departure airport or sea port.

Drop-off at Receiving Centre/ Drop-off Depot

If you choose to drop your parcel off at one of our sea freight receiving centres or air freight drop-off depots across the
country, we’ll ensure you have all the documentation you’ll need to hand in at the drop-off location, including your air
waybill, packing list and a drop-off reference number. We can either email or post this to you, depending on your
preference.
